You navigate Bid Banana from the navigation bar at the top of every page. It holds five tabs — Search, Favorites, Match, Blog and API — plus an account icon at the far right that opens your settings, billing and support. Almost everything in the platform is reached from one of those six places.
What Is in the Bid Banana Navigation Bar?
The navigation bar stays with you on every page, so you can move between finding bids, tracking them, and managing your account without losing your place.
- Search: find open bids, closed bids and award data across all 50 states.
- Favorites: the bids you have saved, sorted so nothing slips past its deadline.
- Match: your company profile, which turns Search into a feed tuned to what your business actually does.
- Blog: free articles from our in-house RFP experts on search tactics and new features.
- API: for developers and platforms who want our bid data inside their own product.
- Account icon: opens a menu with Post a Bid or Source, Support, Account Settings and Sign out.
What Can I Do From the Search Tab?
Search is where you will spend most of your time. Type a keyword or phrase into the search box, then use the I'm peeling for toggle underneath it to choose which part of the database you are searching:
- Open bids: active solicitations you can still respond to, collected daily from thousands of local, state and federal sources.
- Closed bids: solicitations past their deadline. Use these to identify organizations that have needed what you sell, and to time your approach before the contract comes up again.
- Award data: records of contracts that were awarded, useful for understanding buying patterns, pricing, and who you would be bidding against.
💡 Tip: Not sure which of the three to pick? What Is Bid Status? explains when each one is the right tool.
How Do I Read the Search Results Page?
Results appear as cards, with the total count above them and a filter panel down the left side. The panel narrows results by Closing date, State and Agency. Above the results you can open Saved searches or re-order what you see by Relevance, Newest first, or Closing soon.
Each result card carries the agency and state, the title, and a row of tags: the closing date, the estimated contract value, the solicitation type (such as Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid), and where the data came from. Two buttons sit at the bottom of every card:
- See how to respond: opens guidance on responding to that specific bid.
- View details: opens the Bid Details page, with key dates, the full description, the buyer's contact, and a link out to the original source.
A small flag icon on the card reports inaccurate data, and the banana icon in the top-right corner saves the bid to your Favorites.
💡 Tip: Getting too many results, or too few? How to Search Using Keywords and Filters covers how to phrase a search so the filters do the rest.
What Is the Favorites Tab For?
Favorites is where the bids you saved with the banana icon collect. The page splits them into Open and Closed tabs with a count on each, and sorts by Closing soon, Recently added, or Title A–Z. Closing soon is the default, so the deadline nearest to today sits at the top.
To take a bid off the list, click the trash icon in the top-right corner of its card.
What Does the Match Tab Do?
Match is your company profile. Tell Bid Banana your industry, your services, the keywords you would search for, and who is on your team, and Search stops being a blank box: your feed starts surfacing the open bids that fit your company as they land. Setup takes under five minutes and is included with an active subscription.
A completed profile also works in the other direction. It is public, so agencies, primes and private companies can find your services, capabilities and certifications, and buyers looking for what you do can send bid invitations straight to your team. How to Set Up Your Match Profile walks through it field by field.
What Is on the Blog Tab?
The Blog is a free library written by our in-house RFP experts: educational resources, industry insight, and better ways to search. It is the place to go when you want to get more out of the platform rather than fix something in it.
Who Is the API Tab For?
The API tab is for anyone who wants to query Bid Banana's bid and award data from their own software — developers building it into a product, and subscribers automating a search they would otherwise run by hand. You can subscribe directly from the tab for $499.99 a year, which covers 10,000 returned records a month and is billed separately from your Bid Banana subscription. There's no approval step — your first key is issued at checkout. Before you subscribe, you can run a live query in the playground on the same page, with no key and no signup.
If you need more volume than the Standard plan covers, or you want to share Bid Banana data with an audience of your own, fill out the partnership form on the API page. We're happy to work with organizations at higher volumes, and a person reviews every request — usually within two business days.
Where Are My Account Settings?
Click the account icon at the far right of the navigation bar and choose Account Settings. The settings page has four tabs:
- My Profile: your name, organization, phone, email address and password. See How to Change Your Email or Password.
- Saved Searches: the searches you have saved to run automatically. See How to Use Saved Search for Automatic Daily Searches.
- Team: the people in your organization who share your profile and feed.
- Billing: your plan, payment method and invoice history. See How to Review Your Invoices and Payment Methods.
How Do I Get Help While I'm Browsing?
Click the headphones icon in the bottom-right corner of any page. It opens a Support panel with help articles, a 24/7 AI assistant, and a form to submit a ticket to our team. How to Contact Bid Banana Support covers which route to use when.
